Planning raffle prizes can be fun, but a bit stressful if you are short on ideas. Fruit baskets are really overdone. Winning a fruit basket isn't quite as exciting as a well though-out theme basket with interesting hobbies or luxury items in mind. Coffee Basket
Create a coffee themed raffle basket by starting with an empty coffee can for a container or "basket". Paint or decorate the can anyway you like. Fill the can with bags of specialty or flavored coffee beans, creamers, and sweeteners. Place a decorative coffee cup into the can with the other items to create a full coffee gift set.
Art Basket
Use an empty paint can, for a basket for an art theme. Clean the can thoroughly and create a simulated single colored drip effect on the edge by drizzling a bit of brightly colored paint. Fill the can with painting or art related items such as an art smock, a small canvas or drawing pad, paintbrushes, pastels and little tubes of paint.
Poker Basket
Fill a basket with poker-related items like cards, poker chips, fake money and a fold-able poker mat to place on normal tables. Place an old-fashioned card player's visor in the basket with the other items. Include a poker themed t-shirt to go along with the whole theme.
Springtime Planting Basket
Fill a watering can with gardening gloves, a spade and trowel and some seeds for planting. Include a gardening book or a guide to identifying plants. Add a floppy gardening hat for fun and maybe a fold-able kneepad to kneel on while planting flowers. Paint or decorate the outside of the can with flowers or herbs.
Writer's Basket
Fill a new office wastebasket with pencils, a pencil sharpener, pens, and a decorative hard-backed journal. Add a thesaurus and a dictionary to help with the recipient's writing, and include a kindle if cost does not prohibit. The kindle is a really interesting device that allows users to download and read digital forms of books, which is great for any writer or avid reader.
Music Basket
Create a basket fit for a music lover. Fill a basket with compact discs, music posters, tickets to an upcoming music event or concert, an mp3 player and a gift certificate to download mp3 files. Include a t-shirt that is music or band-related. If you want to create a musician's basket, also include some blank sheet music paper to allow them to get creative and write their own compositions.
