A few simple supplies and some unconventional junk, along with a DIY attitude, add character and style to any garden. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Repurposed Planter

    1

Clean out old tin cans, like ones that held nuts, lead-free paint or coffee.

    2

Puncture a few small holes in the bottom using a hammer and nails. This allows water to drain out.

    3

Fill the can with soil and a potted plant, then place it in a prominent area where it can soak up the sun.

Vintage Storage

    4

Find a vintage kitchen cupboard with shelving inside.

    5

Paint the cupboard, sanding beforehand if necessary.

    6

Store garden tools inside the cupboard.

    7

Place an antique mailbox on top of the cupboard and use it to store smaller tools, like spades and work gloves.

Mirrored Garden

    8

Buy a mirror with a large, ornate wooden frame.

    9

    Paint the frame.

    10

Place the mirror, among other mirrors, in the garden where it can refract light and reflect the greenery, making the space brighter and bigger.
